To begin preschool, children must be at least three years old (as of August 15) and no more than four years old (up to July 15) and meet the entrance requirements regarding a physical examination, including tuberculin testing, and must be fully immunized according to the State of Connecticut guidelines.  A schedule of required immunizations is attached.  We require an annual physical exam for each child to be filled out and signed by the child’s physician.  This must be completed on the yellow, State of Connecticut Health Form (enclosed).

Please note that a tuberculin (TB) test with the date and results must be documented on the yellow State of Connecticut Health Form prior to enrollment.  If for some reason not all immunizations are up to date or if no TB test is indicated on the program, the health consultant will not approve the health form and the child will not be able to start school; therefore, please have this form completed as early in the enrollment process as possible to allow for time to complete any missing information prior to the start of the school year.

There will always be one staff member on site who is certified in pediatric CPR and First Aid.  Universal Precautions will be followed in the classroom, which include that staff will use disposal latex gloves when dealing with bodily fluids and wash hands after bathroom use.

Toileting Policy:

Children must be potty trained and out of diapers to be a part of our preschool program.  However, we understand that accidents do happen.  Again, please make sure that your child has a complete change of clothing in the event an accident happens.
